Well, Im here on the blog again after an exceptional hiatus, which is an interesting segway because the hiatus Im preparing for at 969 is the reason Im not able to blog as frequently. Ive been busy with preparing for the Hiatus at work its been hectic and at times, very long days.
Speaking of which, I got to shoot a girl at a powwow she was lots of fun and it was my first powwow I wish I ate meat (and had the will to stand in line for an hour) so I could have tried an Indian taco! Sounds strange, but makes sense I guess.
Then, this last week, I did a segment on some fire spinners and some random dude light his face on fire! It was super crazy, Ive never seen anything like that before I wish I could post the video. The guy burned half of his face to the 2nd degree (3rd being most severe of course). Its was nasty. The segment was good though.
And those are my excuses business and dealing with dinks who light themselves on fire (there was a lot of paper work to fill out on that one). Needless to say, Im excited to take a break (though it might be permanent if I dont get my job back) and head back to Regina for a bit for improv camp and my brothers wedding. It will be nice to see everyone for more than just 3 days Thursday at midnight to Sunday at 2.
Ill be blogging a little bit more frequently coming up as Ill have more time soon. For now here are some 1 sentence reviews of the films Ive seen recently (I get a lot of free passes at work):

Little Miss Sunshine:
A wonderful little film that didnt really break any new ground despite quirky characters and a cast operating at its finest it almost tried a little too hard

An Inconvenient Truth:
Its a great little film that balances some crazy-shitty news about global warming and how quickly things can get very shitty with some really human moments in Al Gores life worth watching.

A Scanner Darkly:
Interesting and nauseating at the same time, Richard Linklaters romp into rotoscoping and drug addled filmmaking is more of a hypnotic exercise in patience and gag reflex control than it is in excellent filmmaking.

Talladega Nights:
Not as good as Anchorman, yet still entertaining.

Barnyard:
Lame and nothing new to the genre or the field of animated films it just plain wallows in its own mediocrity.

The Night Listener:
Interesting and intriguing performance from Robin Williams, but the film itself builds to a wholly anti-climactic conclusion that does nothing to satisfy the intense and grippings curiosity the film builds.
Thats it for now more later.
